Transfer Station

The Transfer Station may be used for the disposal of waste generated in the town of Middletown Springs by residents or landowners.

Middletown Springs Variable Rate Pricing Policy

Big Dump Day – 577 West Street

Second Saturday of May and First Saturday of October

 

Middletown Springs residents can discard unwanted/unused big

items that DO NOT qualify as normal household trash

Fee: Vehicle OR Trailer Load $10 | Vehicle AND Trailer Load $20

Accepted materials include furniture, mattresses, larger children’s toys, and small

amounts of demolition/construction debris (NO contractors, please)

Regular trash & recyclable items, including electronics,

MUST go to Fort Dumpster

No charge for truck/trailer load of metal items only

Items containing refrigerant accepted at Fort Dumpster

during this event. Fee: $25 per item

NOTE: Hazardous Materials, such as paints, oil, or TIRES are NOT ACCEPTED

» Please bring exact change or a personal check

» Please remain in your vehicles until otherwise instructed

» The Town of Middletown Springs shall NOT be responsible for any damage

that may occur to private vehicle(s) during the loading or unloading process

Punch Card – $20.00 = 10 (30 gallon) or 20 (15 gallon) bags of trash.

Punch Cards can be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office, Fort Dumpster, or Crossman’s Village Store.

$5.00 per car charged during “Big Dump Days”.

Single Stream Recycling, Electronics,  Batteries, Cell Phones, Leaf and Yard Waste, and Food Waste are Accepted Free of Charge.

This information is subject to change at any time as the requirements of Act 148 continue to impact the Town’s disposal costs and options. Please check with the Attendant for current pricing and space availability before bringing large amounts of material for disposal.. Please sort them into the proper containers.

Aluminum & Steel Cans (Foil & empty food & beverage cans)

Glass Bottles & Jars (Empty food & beverage bottles & jars)

Not accepted – Plastic bags, bagged recyclables, clothing/textiles, food waste/liquids, tanglers such as rope or hoses, scrap metal, batteries of any kind, electronics, wood, medical waste, hazardous materials, explosives, toys, hangers, shoes, waxy cups or plates, food bags or wrappers, plastic wrap or film, shrink wrap, tarps, diapers, human/pet or yard waste, tires or rubber, Styrofoam™, napkins, paper towels, tissues, plastic utensils, register tape, condiment packets, straws, stirrers, coffee pods, ceramics, or baking glass

Electronics

Seven or fewer Computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, printers, and peripherals are accepted at the facility for FREE from any Vermont resident. Please speak with Transfer Station Attendant for further information.

Food Scraps

All food scraps are currently accepted for FREE.

Leaf and Yard Waste

Leaves, grass clippings, branches, and wood chips are accepted  Other options –  start a pile and compost at home.
