The Transfer Station may be used for disposal of waste generated in Benson by residents or taxpayers who purchase an annual permit. | ||
These information is subject to change at any time as the requirements of Act 148 continue to impact the Town's disposal costs and options. Please check with the Attendant for current pricing and space availability before bringing large amounts of material for disposal.

The following materials are RECYCLED for FREE. Please sort them into the proper containers. | ||

Metal Dumpster: | . | Metal Lids (including gaskets) Cans (including labels) Aluminum Foil and Pie Tins Scrap Metal, Sheet Metal Pipes, and Wire Metal Barrels (except those contaminated with chemicals) Metal with plastic attached is permitted, such as strollers, VCRs, etc.Major household appliances, including stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, humidifiers, dehumdifiers, and large fans (classified as white goods) are accepted free of charge in the metal dumpster. This also includes all steel items including tin, metal roofing, car parts, cable and wire, bed frames, pipes, metal cabinets, and hot water heaters. |

See Attendant: | Large Batteries, Cell Phones, Laser Cartridges, Ink Jet Cartridges,* Electronics, Hazardous Waste, Rechargeable Batteries, CFL bulbs, Fluorescent Bulbs, Refrigerators and Air Conditioners.

ELECTRONICS - Seven or fewer Computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, printers, and peripherals are accepted at the facility for FREE from any Vermont resident. Please speak with Transfer Station Attendant for further information. |
