Transfer Station
The Fair Haven Transfer Station may be used for the disposal of waste generated by residents and taxpayers of Fair Haven and West Haven.
Transfer Station permits and punch cards may be purchased at the Fair Haven Town Office, and punch cards may be purchased at the Transfer Station, but payment must be made by check only. Proof of residence may be required to purchase a permit sticker. No cash is accepted at the Transfer Station. Business credit accounts may be established with the approval of the Town Manager and the Select Board. Applications are available at the Fair Haven Town Office.
Transfer Station permit stickers are valid from July 1 to June 30 and must be fixed to the lower right corner of the windshield. Permit stickers can be purchased for $10 for each vehicle used to access the transfer station. Permit stickers can only be purchased at the Fair Haven Town Office.

Trash Fee Schedule
0-15 gallon trash bag (18 lbs. or less) – $2.00 or 1 punch
16-30 gallon trash bag (36 lbs. or less) – $4.00 or 2 punches
55 gallon drum – $8.00 or 4 punches
Loose – pickup trucks – large quantities – $174/ton – Must be weighed over scale.
NO hazardous waste, flammable liquids, paint, stain, recyclables, industrial or infection waste, construction and demolition debris.
NO loose needles, sharps, or syringes. Seal in a plastic container and dispose of in trash.

Seven or fewer Computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, printers, and peripherals are accepted at the facility for FREE from any Vermont resident. Please speak with Transfer Station Attendant for further information.

IRON AND STEEL – Empty paint cans, drained oil filters, and appliances not requiring freon removal. WILL STICK TO MAGNET.

Drain and purge all fuel tanks
Drums must be open on one end
Expel all gas from propane cylinders
Oil filters MUST be drained for 24 hours.
Scrap Metal - Non-Ferrous
Aluminum, copper, brass, lead, electrical wire, and cords
